It seems that after (or maybe even before) Sarah's death that Abraham took on more wives and concubines. The account in v. 6 suggests that he "carried out the mandate" and became the father of "many" nations. Each one of them was not given the birthright or the fortune that Issac got and he sent them far, far away. The death of Abraham recounted his life as happy as he lived until 175 years. Not a bad thing and what was significant was that both Issac and Ishmael participated in their father's burial. He was buried in the same place that was set aside for Sarah. God then blessed Issac after the death of his father, Abraham. The reminder of the grave and that it was purchased and owned by Abraham was important enough for the author to recall.
Came home early yesterday to just chill out and recoup. Still not up to the gym, probably either tonight or tomorrow morning.
Praise for today: Great are the works of the Lord, they are pondered by all who delight in them. Ps 111:2
