David records one of the most beautiful prayers in the Bible that was not centered upon him, Solomon or the temple. It was directed solely unto the Lord. He got it! He gave the Lord all of the praise for who and what He is. While the balance of the prayer is directed to giving and the attitude of giving, he still got it! The Lord made and created all. He gave it to them to have as stewards rather than owners. The giving of gifts to the Lord was not based upon obligation or duty but rather of free will and love with the desire to love God. The attitude of this expression pleases God and it was David's desire that the people of God embrace this as well. When David told the people to worship they did so with the humbleness and adoration that befits Him. We should do the same.
I wish that my attitude would be that of David and the believers to give and live as a conduit of His grace. I pray that my family has that same attitude rather than that of gaining and keeping. Glad to hear that GG got home safely and at a good time. I am looking forward to tomorrow night's dinner but not the drive and the parking... especially with the heat wave approaching.
My knee is slowly recovering to the point that I have started to go back to the gym. I am taking it very easy and barely breaking a sweat but still one step and day at a time. God is teaching me patience and reliance and above all trust in Him.
Praise for today: Yours, O Lord, is the greatness and the power and the glory and the majesty and the splendor, for everything in heaven and earth is yours. Yours, O Lord, is the kingdom; you are exalted head over all. 1 Chr 29:11
