2 Chr 3

The temple is now being started in the 4th year of Solomon's reign (966 BC) in Jerusalem on Mount Moriah. The place was the threshing floor of Araunah - the place provided by David. The foundation  of the temple was 90 feet by 30 feet. The builders under the command of Solomon made this a magnificent structure and using the plans of David proceeded to build it according to what was ordained. The chapter gives some detail as far as what materials were used and the ornamentation that was used to adorn the temple and the Most Holy Place. The chapter ends with the two pillars in front of the temple - the one to the south was named Jakin (he establishes) and the one to the north was named Boaz (in him is strength). The columns would remind the people that God established their nation. And they must trust God to make it strong.

Nice chapter and today promises to be "weather-wise" a great day. Hopefully, work wise it will be the same...

Praise for today: The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom; all who follow his precepts have good understanding. To him belongs eternal praise. Psalm 111: 10
