2 Cor 10: 12-18

Often times we use ourselves as a measuring stick. In doing so, we claim some semblance of being a standard - mostly as a "positive" thing since we rarely if ever deem ourselves wrong or substandard. Mostly this is done in the workplace, especially if we have attained some level of competence or "expertise" in a certain area. The Corinthians were addressed here on several fronts as we should be as well when it comes to spiritual issues. They lacked the smarts and the experience to teach and to pontificate where they shouldn't and sometimes we too have crossed that border. Pride is a huge factor and was and still is a "deadly seven sin". I pray that as I get older I can only boast in Christ and Christ alone.

Prayer for today: for the rains and the devasting effects the flooding could affect - for the people and their property. For my peeps and their families - recovery, stability and rest. For my flyboy and the teacher and especially the payroll specialist...

Praise for today: I praise Him even through the storms knowing that He is in control.
