Gen 12: 10-20

Canaan was a pretty arid spot so it would not take long for Abram to leave there and head to Egypt where the land was more conducive. We know that God had trusted Abram but it took a while for Abram to trust God. Already the seeds of his character have started to sprout and shows in his cunningness and sense of self preservation. One can make the argument that he told "half truths" but ultimately there is a lack of faith and trust that would lead to a dialogue between Abram and God. In the end, Abram who benefitted from the gifts bestowed upon him left with Sarai while Pharoah suffered.

Prayers for today: praying for Johnny Leon and his family as they grieve the loss of their father. Hope to get to the wake on Sat morning before the leadership meeting.

Praise for today: How great your works, O Lord, how profound your thoughts! Ps 92:5
